Consider the Lilies
My book Consider the Lilies is a book that asks you to see the beauty in the everyday common occurrences as a gift from God Himself.
In that book I talk about Empty Spots - When my son was a little boy he would come running to me and say “ Mom, hug me. I have Empty Spots” I would hold him to me – chest to chest – heart to heart – and he would be completely quiet (no mean feat for that one). Slowly, after a few moments, he would sigh, give me his smile and go on his way. The poem goes on to say that I knew there was an exchange that transformed us both. Well, last Sunday my four year old granddaughter, Evan, came up to me, crawled up on my lap, held me chest to chest, heart to heart and said, “Hug me, I’m low on Nana Love” She stayed there for a few moments (no mean feat for that one – after all she is her daddy’s child) gave a lovely sigh, planted an Evan kiss on my cheek and was gone. Life keeps giving us gifts. These moments are perfection.
